Spring Home Décor: Re-fresh Your Home for Less

Spring is a time to get rid of the old and introduce the new. A time to ditch those dusty old ornaments and introduce new accessories that will brighten your home. We aren’t talking about spring cleaning. We’re talking about the phenomenon that is spring sprucing.

Replicate what’s happening outside your home by creating a light, bright and breezy feel inside. It doesn’t have to break the bank. In fact, there are plenty of budget friendly spring home décor techniques which can transform the look of your home with little investment of time or money. Here’s some of our favourites...

1. White, Blue and Earthy Tones

Instantly breathe a touch of spring into your home by using accessories with white, blue and earthy tones. Whether you buy vibrant blue tea towels, brighten up your table with a dazzling white tablecloth, introduce earthy toned vases or invest in some spring toned tableware, a little money spent on the right spring home décor accessories can really go a long way in your home.

2. Foliage, Plants & Flowers

Bring a bit of spring into your home by decorating your house with foliage, plants and flowers. Although not a new phenomenon, the way in which you use these plants and flowers will determine how much they will transform your home.

One of our favourite spring home décor techniques is to hang or drape foliage from ceilings, book cases, cabinets and other high reaching places. It instantly freshens up your home and gives a modern look that’s perfect for spring. We particularly love how Dean and Jeska Hearne have used foliage in their home, as pictured below.

Alternatively, for a simpler solution, why not invest in potted plants or flowers and use vase alternatives to give them a quirky look? One of our favourite vase alternatives is to use a kitchen jug, as shown in the image below.

We’ve featured the below jug in our spring tableware inspiration collection. To take a look at other spring inspired tableware ideas, click here.

4. Terrariums

Spending time in the garden is a past time of many of us during the spring months. But when the weather turns, and you can’t go outside, why not bring your garden indoors? Terrariums are the perfect way to capture a small part of the outdoors in your home.

Spring home décor doesn’t have to be expensive. In fact, you can pick up a terrarium from as little as £8. Or, you can make your own, containing real features from your very own garden.

5. Re arrange your furniture

Sometimes, re-freshing your home doesn’t have to cost any money at all. In fact, simply re arranging your furniture can transform a room all for just a bit of man power and time. Move your sofa, reposition your book case or drag your dining table into a sunnier part of the room. It may seem simple, but it can make a real difference.
