With the nights drawing in and the days getting colder, autumn is definitely upon us. With that in mind, it’s time to get your house ready for the autumn/winter season. New throws, cushions, tableware and more – introducing autumn inspired homeware accessories will transform your house into a warm and cosy home which is ready for the colder weather.
We’ve researched autumn home décor design trends for the 2018 season and put together a list, and mood boards, of the most popular trends this season.
Trend one – go natural:
Lots of interior designers and bloggers are talking about natural décor this season and autumn homeware with light and earthy tones and natural shapes seem to be taking over the shops. Try introducing light coloured throws, earthy toned cushions or even sand down your furniture to give a more rustic feel.
Alternatively, you could try introducing new tableware with earthy tones to transform your kitchen or dining room without it needing a complete overhaul. Our ‘Soho’ range with its natural clay edges has already been proving popular this season and is even being used in renowned establishments such as Soho House and The Pig Hotels.
Trend two – mix in some bold:
Also proving popular with homeware brands and interior designers alike this season is autumn home décor with warm or bold accents. Bold colours such as mustard, dark blues and oranges are a definite autumn homeware trend this year and lots of homeware brands seem to be mixing these colours with neutral tones to create a balance.
Alongside bold walls, statement decorative pieces and colourful rugs, why not add warmth to your home with the use of bold crockery? Our ‘Nirvana’ and ‘Forget Me Not’ ranges provide a pop of colour without being overly fussy or too fierce. Our Nirvana range has also proved particularly popular with cafes such as The Find in Cheltenham and wine bars such as Fourteen Drops.
Trend three – introduce a pattern:
Make your autumn home décor more fun with patterned accessories. Patterned wall art, wallpaper and cushions are all popular this season and can transform your home without breaking the bank. Pick out colours from your other autumn homeware accessories and choose patterns which draw on these tones.
You could even transform your dining room and kitchen by investing in new crockery with bold patterns. Our Dartington Pottery range is full of wonderful patterns such as ‘Poppy’, ‘Breeze’ and ‘Lace’ which will add a splash of colour to your home without being overkill. We’re also loving our ‘Eclore’ range this season, which consists of a variety of statement homeware pieces.
