Marieka is part of the decorating team at Grayshott trained in Devon and in Surrey by the artists of Dartington Pottery. Many members of her family are potters both here and in the Netherlands, so it was inevitable that she would follow the same craft. After enjoying art at school she studied a short course at Dillington in Somerset which explored `Country detail in watercolour`. This sparked her interest in nature and she is now developing her own style of one-off pieces, which are very finely detailed
A simply stunning large round platter handcrafted by our potters and decorated by Marieka Snell. With her keen eye for detail, Marieka has recreated the impressive structure of the Ribblehead Viaduct which carries the Settle-Carlisle Railway across Batty Moss in the valley of the River Ribble in North Yorkshire.
